Submission Results - My first PCGS raw submission
Not sure anyone really cares...but I always enjoy a good results thread! Read at your own discretion.
Note: items 1 through 10 were a friends Buffalo Nickels. Kind of mixed results, but I won't go into them.
My Results:
Of course, not knowing what I thought they would grade, you have no idea if this is good, or bad!
My pre-submission guesses:
11) VF details, environmental damage. (Just missed on the details...not concerned with that, really. No way it was getting straight graded!)
12) AU-58
13) AU-58, shot at 62 or so
*These are my two "over graded" coins. Maybe I'm just not tuned to 2-Centers. Nice coins, with "full" details, but I think the issue is a lack of luster, so they probably wouldn't get 58, or MS....despite my desires.
14) VF-30 (close enough)
15) VF-20 (Wow....I'm either being too tough, or they are being too loose! I may want to show this one via picture here for some opinions.
16) AU-58 (To be honest, I talked myself out of MS-62, and went with 58. I wasn't expecting it to go MS...and certainly not 63!)
17) XF-40 (close enough)
18) XF-45 (Another "am I being too tough, or are they being lenient? Again, maybe pictures and a group opinion is in order).
19) F-12 (close enough)
20) VG 10 (My only direct hit!)
In all, 6 of 10 went HIGHER than I expected. Good news? Maybe. Ideally, one would hope your own grading was more in line with the services!!....Right??
I do think I'll follow up with pictures of the 1833 half, and '91CC Spitting Eagle. See if I'm the only one shooting lower on those.

If your eye is a little harder than the graders, you will do all right in the long run. Nice first outing!
how many times did you hit refresh on the order page?
Per day? Or overall?
They actually came back quicker than I expected. Economy, received 10/13/16, grades posted yesterday. Total of 24 business days, by my count. (Now, if they would just ship them!!)
better right and slow than fast and wrong!
I hope your left mouse button feels better soon.
you must be feeling pretty good about them, though.
Looks like a nice set of results overall. With the CBH, some folks tend to grade based on small areas of the coin and ignore the rest of the surfaces.
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
Really...Your joking right.:)
Looks like great results... and being a little tough on your own coins...while rare... is not a bad thing. Cheers, RickO
Nice results overall. You can't grade the various types of series the same with other metals or striking characteristics. I started out with gold coins and then moved on to other coins, it's a tough learning curve.
I think you did a good job.
I was not happy with one of my more recent submissions. The Panda was in the original package and come back MS 62.
The '09 S VDB fooled me as did the 1916 Lincoln. ( thought it was a proof ).
"If at first you don't succeed...."
you could go broke !
