How come it only weighs 2.5 gms?
Should be closer to 3-3.1.
You checked your scale?
Two different planchet were used for this year, one weighs 3.11 ( Zinc ) and the other one weighs 2.5 ( Copper )
Sorry, stash,I misread your post. I thought you said it was on a copper planchet.
I must have seen the "coppercoins" website, and thought it was a copper coin..?
As the kids say...."My bad!"

I did not know about the zinc AND copper planchet use in that year....interesting. Cheers, RickO
You have to be careful when looking for DDO(s) for this year .
Coppercoins one & three are very close to each other .
Here's the link for DDO-001 .

These are change finds too ...
That is really nice.... change finds are special...brings back the old days... Cheers, RickO
You have it reversed. Copper planchets weigh 3.10g, and the zinc ones 2.5g.
Dead Cat Waltz Exonumia
"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
The Red Book can be quite confusing .
Then mine must be DDO-003, Not DDO-001 .
