Still experimenting with another camera and shooting some new pieces.
Hadn't really studied this dime as I bought it in a batch of nice bright ones. It wasn't until I photographed it that I noticed quite the die crack. Thought I'd share for those that might be interested. Anyone else care to share a pic of a die crack?

All of these cent reverses are of a 1911 D/D RPM # 2 showing its die crack progression until one can assume it finally shattered.
Coin starts with a lower rim to right Wheat stalk crack.
Next a very faint crack can be seen from the rim to the upper right wheat stalk.
Now the upper rim to right wheat stalk is longer and better defined.
Now the upper rim to right wheat stalk has spread through and beyond the wheat stalk and a new crack shows from the rim to the O in Cent.
The Crack to the O in cent has splintered to form a new crack to the tip of the left wheat stalk and a new crack appears from the rim to the lower left wheat stalk.

It's from my website (see the sig line). Lots of 1883/2 closeups.

I just picked this one up recently;
I will start another thread on it soon with some USB microscope close ups of the reverse die crack diagnostics.
