OK, I'm out of my element on this but was shown it yesterday. Opinions?

It would be better if you could rotate the pictures for a normal view of the piece.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Opinions...
a.) You're out of your element.
b.) You saw it in hand yet you seek opinions from photos.
    c.) Coin is not certified.
    Conclusion is obvious...

Yes, that's what I thought. PQ, not so friendly (or useful) the comments.

Big money in straight grades, so no reason it shouldn't be in plastic. I saw one of those in better condition at Gardner coin's shop he said it was an Unc., he wanted around 60 money for it, though it had a substantial hit on the cheek. He later told me that the now late Mr. Carr bought it from him knowing that it would probably "grade".

Thanks I'll pass that comment on. BTW, there are no signs of mounts and rims & milling flawless. The obv took a lot more hits than rev

Odd surface appearance. Raw. A coin to avoid.

It seems "off" from the picture.
I wouldn't put my money at risk as I am not expert enough and it looks "not real" to me.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

This coin is fake, just look at the rim and denticles.

Certainly the reverse is off. Looks like a cast. Mushy detail on denticles.

Yes, I agree the obv. surface is unusual at least to me. The milling and edges flawless and the reverse appeared beyond reproach in hand. I had one other picture of the reverse which I turned off glaring lights
