    In late December of this year APMEX was selling "BU" 2016 $50's for a 3.4% premium to spot on ebay. However, at least a sampling of the coins sold were defaced with a tiny dot at 3 o'clock on the reverse. It's hardly noticeable but they would never grade as 69's.

    Well, as an AP they buy from the mint at 3% over so either they were saving up blems and wholesaled them off on eBay OR maybe they got smoe sort of special purchase from the mint instead of the mint going to the trouble to condemn and melt them.

    The grading of bullion and bewilderment over a "69" or bullion or bu or other such nonsense is why gold isn't money now and why alot of people lost and will continue to lose a lot of money on premium(s)...
