No shortage of "art" being done with coins but I thought this is one of the better ones. Pretty cool for sure.
Here is my kitchen. I spent over 60 hours putting them on the wall. I have counterstamped coins on it to so every state is also on my wall. Everything from flying eagle to shield cents but most are wheat cents and 2009!
I should add that they are all in order also. I did not just throw them up on the wall. Each one is put on with superglue then grouted and sealed. Just putting the coins up took me 60 hours. Would I do it again? No way since it was such a drain mentally! When people walk in my kitchen and see it they are shocked and say its one of the best things they ever seen. In the end it would have been cheaper to tile it but then it wouldn't have been what I truly wanted!
That's incredible work!!!

This should be featured on "This Old House". What a fantastic effort and with a great design to boot.
Super cool!
Unfortunately since the pennies were laid directly on plywood he's likely to end up with cracks - especially along that big seam. A couple sheets of concrete backerboard would have been a good investment
I was going t say that but i did not wanna rain on the persons work....
mine has been up about a year and a half with no issues
That is so
"Finished product first. Shiny! About $130 in pennies, 10 bottles of elmer's glue, some grout I found in my basement and some damn expensive epoxy (~$150), a tub of wood filler because plywood is holey and pennies are small, and a few pieces of wood. Also, one of my dogs kept making its way across any barricade I constructed and pooping on the pennies. Had to pry up those areas every time because even if I when I could clean it up properly, like a stiff turd that didn't seep into the cracks between pennies, it would tarnish the dark pennies and lighten the tarnished pennies overnight. The dog's name is Trouble so that one might be on us."
Now that's fun stuff.
