Completed my Liberty Nickel Everyman Set

With the addition of the 1912-S in AU-58, I have now upgraded all coins in the set to AU-58. The top 5 are all AU-58 (although sets 4 and 5 still need 2 coins each).

So what started out in 2009 as just a business strike set in any grade is now basically complete. (there are the elusive AU-58+ coins, but nothing I am going to go overboard for)

Now I am down to needing the 3 keys (1885, 1886, 1912-S) in MS-64 for my mint state set as well as an upgrade to mint state for the 3 varieties that are still AU in my complete variety set. The keys are easy to find, just hard to pay for. The others are hard to find but I will keep looking.

    Congratulations! Just about any set of Everyman is no small feat. DO you have a PCGS Collection Album set up yet?

    Congratulations, I'm a few steps behind you... I need two AU 58's { 1889 and 1902 }
    Last month, I added another - a 1910 in 58... and I'm still looking for a few in MS, same
    dates as you are, plus I need the 1886 & 1912-D in MS, and need about 2/3 of the Proofs.

    I thought these sets would be a breeze - NOT !!

    Thank you for all the kind words.

    JeffMTampa: I was the under bidder on the 12-S that is now in your set. Did not think another would come up for a while although the pops did increase by 2 in the last 6 weeks (the coin I found is not one of these 2)

    MFH: I have been watching you move up the list. The 1889 has a smaller pop than the 1912-S. I will watch out for these two dates.

    In truth, the set is still missing one date. I collect the 1901 and 1902 by reverse type (there are two types) and I still need the second type for 1901. I have them both for the 1902 year. Trying to get PCGS to designate both varieties. NGC will in their variety program now.

    In looking for a '12-S, try and work the price hard -- as supply is relatively plentiful on that key.

    It is an impressive set in Unc. I saw one in a DANSCO once and it was mesmerizing
