error?

well found this quarter and what looks to be some doubling on one leaf and part of the stem

tried to get the best pic with my webcam

    Well it certainly looks interesting...I'm on the fence on this one. What ever it is, the abrupt ending on the stem is puzzling and does not look at all like a doubled die.

    it's quite puzzling cause i know there is not suppose to be lines under the leaf or the stem and yet there are

    i'm hoping to get some idea of what this error is so when i see it again i'll know what it is

    Why would you not give the date and mint mark in the question?

    look carefully all over the rev. often times MD will exhibit in an inconsistent way across different parts of the devices.

    the odds are against you for such a monster ddr, just the odds.

    i'm voting MD because the doubling is too un-uniform. from the pic that is. which isn't too bad but just won't get us there.

    if you have a package going out and don't mind spending the $5-10, depending on where you send it, you may sleep better are night having an expert examine it in-hand.

    whatever you do, let us know what you do. i'd not enjoying saying it isn't from that pic and someone else send one in and get the designation.

    legitimate doubling has it inconsistency across devices as well.

    never thought it was anything major just was puzzled as to what it was or could be
    i agree it's MD but still a nice find never the less
