Anyone familiar with these rolls ? I picked up one that was dated 1954 and this one , which has a reverses on both ends. Is this one a solid date or a mixed roll ?

I'm not an expert on rolls, but I would be willing to bet they are circulated mixed dates.

Looks like a deeply toned unc. roll to me.
Did you get it at near melt?
If so, I'd bust that baby open!
Was the '54 roll unc., in the same bank wrapper?

I'd be willing to bet they are all BU. If you take a closer pic of the end coins, we might be able to give you an idea of what year it is. 1948 has a characteristically different reverse, for example.

I paid 225 a piece for both rolls. Got them at a yard sale, I'm not familiar with these ,I plan on opening them at some point. I will post a picture of the 1954 roll .

Same here. We need better images of the end coins. I would just bust them open.

Looks like a nice solid date BU roll to me. I have a few that are similar. Bought them at melt a long while back. They say 2.25x on the side!

Tails-Tails rolls are a terrible dilemma. They really only have value above melt if sold for their "treasure" value, ie the gamble that they are a rare date. But think about how the roll got to you...likely a dealer or collector had a quantity of rolls of a given date, and looked through them to see if they were worth more than melt. Chances are good that they were NOT, so he kept the tails-tails roll(s) to sell at a treasure premium. Maybe he sold the 1954 roll along with the treasure roll to make the treasure roll seem like it has more potential. Eventually, the rolls ended up in your hands.

My prediction, FWIW, is the 1954 is a nice, bright BU roll of solid date 1954. The tails-tails is also a nice, bright BU roll of a later, more common date.

The entire roll was 1963 D. All of the coins seem to be BU, Lots of clash marks from other coins and all MD. I'm still trying to figure out how I missed that mint mark on the reverse.

At least the whole roll was BU. I picked up a solid $20 shot gun roll at a distant bank for $20 back in the 1990's . Solid 1959D. Sent in and came back MS65 and MS65FBL.

I'm no expert at grades, but i'm guessing 64,( maybe 65 on a good day ) .

I agree johnny9434. I started going through my collection of Coins ,proof sets, rolls and other items I've collected through the years at a faster pace. I've enjoyed looking at them over the years wondering what in there.....
