"Ask a question" puts a [Question] button below the subject line.
(I just tried it in the Testing Forum).
Of course, many discussions are started with a question, so I'm not sure what the advantages of having that button are.
It also adds to the "? Unanswered" count in the upper right corner.
So it could be a way to draw attention to an unanswered question.
Then when someone posts a reply, you get a notification, and you are supposed to state whether or not your question was answered.
If you answer Yes, then the button becomes [Answered ✔],
and the "? Unanswered" count decreases by 1.
If you ask a question, and there are a zillion replies, the one you mark as "the answer" will shoot to the top in the list. If someone searches on that question in the future, the answer will appear right below the question. The searcher will not have to wade through a zillion posts to find the answer
in addition the person answering the question gets an "answer badge" and points are added to their total

Definitely some new features.... and the little 'like etc.' icons at the base of each message are cool...sort of like Facebook.... Cheers, RickO

What if the first answer is wrong?
Or what if there is more than one answer?
I tried to change this thread into a question instead of a discussion, and it seems to be impossible, so I can't award any of you an answer badge here
