Almost a dozen of you have messaged me and I truly appreciate that. A great group of coin friends post here in the DC thread.

Here is my ANACS order that was stolen by a UPS employee. An empty box (not damaged) was delivered to me. I refused delivery. I have also included the 6 Ebay listing I was sent. There is one more, the Oregon Trail piece. I have not located the remaining 2 pieces.

    Here are 6 of them

Note that the ANACS numbers match @pcgscacgold's order with ANACS. Those are the same coins.

ANACS has been called, Doug at Numismatic crimes was informed when stolen and again yesterday. Not sure where they take it next.

Maybe the Seller is cooperating with an investigation to catch the thief -- which might explain why the ebay listings are still active.

Anyway, I'm watching to see how this plays out. Hopefully pcgscacgold is able to keep us informed.

ANACS is/was a great company to work with. Paul worked hard to find these at the time but UPS did little to track them down. ANACS made a very fair offer and I posted that over a year ago.

At this point ANACS is considered the victim (from what I was told). I have contacted Doug and the hope is he is tracking things down. It has been a year and 3 months so Doug said very hard to track changing of hands.

It appears the thief has decided to hang onto the 1884-CC cancelled die and the 2021-S Antiqued piece. That means only 4 out of the 5 coin set is available and 2 out of the 3 1884 cancelled die set.

The outpouring of support from this group reminds me why I check in here every day (well, many times each day). I have received messages telling me you will not bid to help me win them back or you would bid and send them to me if you win. I even had a person way back when this happened offer to gift me their graded extras (you know who you are and I remember you because of it).

I had bought the set of 5 Zoins coins that he did with DC. One of them is not up for sale (Antiqued one). I had bought the set of three 1884 cancelled dies. The CC has been kept back. I still have the 2 off center strikes (they arrived after I sent these to ANACS).

I have thought things over and I have decided that many of you will benefit from some of these more then I will. A few of you need one or two of these to complete the set. One of them is/was the only one sold. I will not get the set back because all are not being sold, but maybe someone else can because you need one of these.

I want people from here to get the coins. I want you to win them and show them off. I will be the first to "Like" your post. I moved on from this and feel funny trying to bid to win them back. It is also not a planned expense (in excess of $2000 if they just get back to issue price). I believe some will exceed that. I am not sure if ANACS plans to work to get them back.

I was lucky that morning at 4am to be there at the right time to grab these from Daniel. Let's get them back into DC collector hands. I know you do not need my permission to win these but know that I want you to. I hope that makes sense. Sorry for the long post.

If anyone is considering buying these, make sure you understand the law for where you live, so you know the potential consequences.

    The following is for California:

    https://www.shouselaw.com/ca/defense/penal-code/496/

    Shouse Law Group said:
Penal Code § 496 PC – Receiving Stolen Property – California Law

Penal Code § 496 PC defines the crime of receiving stolen property as buying, receiving, concealing, selling or withholding any property that you know to have been obtained through theft or extortion. The offense can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony and is punishable by up to 3 years in jail.

The language of the code section reads as follows:

    496. (a) Every person who buys or receives any property that has been stolen or that has been obtained in any manner constituting theft or extortion, knowing the property to be so stolen or obtained, or who conceals, sells, withholds, or aids in concealing, selling, or withholding any property from the owner, knowing the property to be so stolen or obtained, shall be punished by imprisonment in a county jail for not more than one year, or imprisonment pursuant to subdivision (h) of Section 1170. However, if the value of the property does not exceed nine hundred fifty dollars ($950), the offense shall be a misdemeanor, punishable only by imprisonment in a county jail not exceeding one year, if such person has no prior convictions for an offense specified in clause (iv) of subparagraph (C) of paragraph (2) of subdivision (e) of Section 667 or for an offense requiring registration pursuant to subdivision (c) of Section 290.

    Examples

    • helping a friend hide jewelry that was stolen from a store.
    • buying a cell phone while knowing that it was taken from someone else.
    • selling “hot” goods on eBay.

    Defenses

You can fight theft offense criminal charges by arguing:

    • you had no knowledge that the goods were taken,
    • you had innocent intent, and/or
    • you did not “receive” the taken items.

    Penalties

A violation of this code section is a wobbler offense under California criminal law. This means that a prosecutor can charge it as either:

    • a misdemeanor, or
    • a felony.

A misdemeanor conviction is punishable by imprisonment in county jail for up to one year.

A felony conviction is punishable by custody in state prison for up to three years.

In lieu of jail time, a judge can award either:

    • misdemeanor (or summary) probation, or
    • felony (or formal) probation.

Here is the sellers "description" of @pcgscacgold 's stolen items. Speaks volumes.

    Z
    .
    .

NEW POLICY: SHIPPING TO DOMESTIC ADDRESSES ONLY. NO INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING.

Your want a description? Here’s your description:

I’m selling coins and currency to serious buyers who want good deals and don’t need to be coddled the entire way.If that’s you, join the fun.If not, just keep on looking elsewhere because you’re not worth by trouble.

    Answers to common questions:

DOMESTIC Shipping is FREE, I still get Questions every single day from folks who can’t seem to figure out the giant FREE SHIPPING Banner on every page.

    FOREIGN Shipping: NOPE

    Commonly asked questions:

    Q. “Is this coin (Insert precious metal here)”
A.You figure it out.If you don’t know what you are looking at, do some research.

    Q.Do You Combine Shipping?
    A.Can’t you read?

    Q. I bought this my mistake, can you cancel?
A.I’ll go ahead and start that unpaid item case for you

Q.I’d like to return a TPG (PCGS, NGC, ANACS, PMG) certified item
A.Welcome to my BBL List and various other industry blacklists of my choosing (There are FEW exceptions, I have encountered misattributions on more obscure coins that significantly affect value more frequently. That’s legitimate)

    Q. Why are you so mean?
    A. Because a person really develops some think skin after years of putting up with nonsense. I provide Numismatic items at no reserve, with plenty of bargain opportunities, I expect buyers to put forth some effort in taking the time to research the items they are buying. This is a hobby, it’s supposed to be fun.99.999% of folks have that figured out. You can to.

Q.I’d like to return this item because of a genuine issue (Wrong item sent, it happens, nobody’s perfect. There are other real reasons)
A.Go ahead and initiate a return using the returns center, you will receive a label at our cost and be refunded upon receipt AND Inspection.

    Q. I’d like to return an item for a frivolous reason (I already had one, my dog/cat/toddler placed an absentee bid).
A.You’d be surprised how many dogs/cats/toddler’s know how to login, search for items that their parents routinely buy, and go through the four step process of placing a bid. You’d be really surprised how many dogs/cats/toddlers seem to know the exact market price of a coin for that matter. Just cut the baloney. Expect a few unkind words if I think your story don’t hold water.

Q.I have a resale license, can you remove the sales tax?
A.For California, ONLY If we have a SIGNED PHYSICAL COPY of your resale card on file and it passes verification and is up to date.

For the new Interstate sales tax. As of February 28, I CANNOT Remove out of state sales tax. That will likely change at some point. Please refer to the Wayfair vs. South Dakota supreme court ruling and it’s repercussions. This issue is big and not easily resolved at the moment.

    Q. I’m located outside the US, Why do I not see tracking immediately?
_A. Because we don't ship internationally anymore. All International order will summarily be canceled__

My guess is that it continues the 'no mint mark associated with the Broken Sword' theme that was established with 1917 through MXMXXI. There are no broken sword reverses of Dan's that bear a MM.
