Limited Edition Silver Proof Set 2016 (16RC)

The 2015 LE Silver set, who's coins were struck in 2015 and was supposed to be released in 2016, was cancelled outright because the FAST Act prevented the 2015 ASE from being sold in 2016.

Similarly, this (overpriced) 2016 set will be released on November 25, and has a very good chance of coming off-sale a month later on December 30, due to the same previously mentioned FAST Act, which doesn't allow sales of the 2016 ASE in 2017.

This assumes the 2016 LE Silver set will have an ASE, like previous years. This set (and price), however, wasn't mentioned in the Federal Register when the ASE product prices were announced in September.

Maybe we'll know more in a few weeks. image

Hmmm...so what do you think this means under the listing; MULTI (S)(W)

    Maybe an "S" ASE?

Maybe just a random Mint code?

"You'll have to buy this set to find out what's in it."

(I forgot where I heard that.)

The regular Silver Proofs (dimes, quarters, etc.) are minted in 'Frisco. The ASE is struck at West Point. Now, if they did do an S-Mint Proof ASE, that'd be a real Christmas gift... image

And of course, if you like your coins in the set you can keep the coins.

The mint has finally populated the page for this set.

Limited Edition Silver Proof Set 2016 (16RC)

Available November 25, at a price of $139.95.

    Item Number: 16RC
    Mintage Limit: None
    Product Limit: 50,000
    Household Order Limit: None

I should point out that a 2016 proof ASE and a 2016 Silver proof set will cost $105.90, which includes all the coins in this set, plus 4 proof brass bucks, nickle and a cent. But if you feel the need to spend an extra $34 for fewer coins but cooler packaging, have at it! :D
