Wow, I had forgotten all about this thread. Here are some recent photos related to my original post above:
Apart from the Imperial Seal as described in the original post, also pictured are swords, a shield, and a crossbow that were also props in the Jackie Chan/Owen Wilson movie, "Shanghai Knights."
FWIW there is now a third movie in the "Shanghai" series that is now in the preproduction stages according to a recent interview with Owen Wilson.
The movie's current working title is "Shanghai Dawn" and it will be interesting to see if it features coins or treasure as the first two have. Here is a link:
In the film "People under the stairs" towards the end of the film the kid gets into a vault full of $20 Saints and other gold coins. The close up shows several $20's and the kid actually gives some to his Grandfather earlier before this scene.
Was watching "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" the other day, and there is a scene near the end where the banditos shoot the mine owner and are divvying up a saddlebag full of silver coins, but I could not make out what they are.

I don't know what B-horror movie this is. I googled "MacGyver Coin" a while ago to find a joke response to someone and this video showed up. It's obviously not from MacGyver. Maybe someone recognizes the movie or can find it's name some other way to put it on the list. They are using a Morgan dollar as arrowheads to kill a vampire but when they go to quarter the Morgan it's a Peace Dollar...
Did not see this one on WillieBoyd2's website in the original post.
Not sure how to classify it. It is an 8 minute 1934 short film done by Orson Welles when he was 19 titled "The Hearts of Age".
Chanced across it in a video where someone used parts of it for the song Psychobabble by Alan Parsons Project.
The coins appear at 2:06 to 2:15 and a wadded up piece of paper money at 2:26 on this video, They are hard to make out here but there is a slightly sharper video of the entire film on Vimeo (linked below).
In the Vimeo copy if stopped at 4:32, five coins are visible. It looks to me like there is a Barber half- reverse up; two Walking Liberty halves - one face up and the other reverse up; possibly a Merc dime reverse up and two other coins that I can't make out.
It seems to be just random change from the time. Though some reviews on IMBD try to figure out meanings to various scenes, I did not notice any addressing what the money meant.
There may not be any particular meaning from looking at the Wikipedia entry where it claims "...Welles acknowledged that the film was an imitation of the early surrealist films of Luis Bunuel and Jean Cocteau. He did not consider it a serious piece of work, and was amused at the idea of being added to his creative canon".

Throw Mama From the Train. Great seen when Danny DeVito shows off his coin collection.
Oops, I missed it on the list in my first browse. Still a great scene.
Then there was the scene at the end of the film where Owen includes the coin collection in his picture book. The narrative is heard, "These are my coins. See my coins." Larry answers, "It's your coin collection."

It has taken several years but I now have 99 films on my "Coins in Movies" website.
It has been an interesting project and I do not plan to stop.
I am looking around for film number 100 and am open to suggestions.
The film has to be available on DVD or the Internet with images good enough to get screen captures from. I do not mind purchasing DVDs to get the pictures and I usually donate them to the local library afterwards.
I like to keep the website fairly "safe for work" which limits me to films rated "G", "PG", or "PG-13", a requirement which prevents me from using the fictional Roman gold Aureus featured in the 1979 film "Caligula".
Most of the films on my website are American or British only because I live in California.
Added October 6 - The Coins in Movies link is here:
Coins in Movies
A fictional coin from Constantine (2005), that shows the character Balthazar rolling a coin along his fingers. It's fictional as the reverse side is a Byzantine Follis and the obverse shows an unidentified face of greek origins. The film was rated R due to violence and demonic images so it may not meet your criteria for your list.
In the opening credits of the magnificent movie "To Kill a Mockingbird" we see the character Jem's cardboard box full of stuff, including an old watch and some crayons and a few Indian head cents and other stuff. Now Indian Head cents do make an appearance when Boo Radley wraps a few in tin foil and leaves them in a hollow tree for Jem to find, so they are appropriate, but what is not appropriate is a 1960-D cent as the story is set during the years 1933-1935.
Another anachronism is a Crayola "Melon" colored crayon, not introduced until 1949.
Finally, there is an old hanger medal on a stars and striped ribbon with a safety pin at the top. The legend seems to say (something) CITY OF (something, possibly NEW YORK.) Anybody recognize it?

I have a problem with coin movies. The National Treasure series. And now Jerry Bruckheimer and my hero Nicolas Cage are cooking up another lie. National Treasure 3 I think.
Because I have the real National Treasure story. It was the First Nations peoples. People of color. Latins. And of course White people. Working together to make the USA.
Watch your movies of fiction. Fine. But where's the truth?
The coin community should instead talk about the truth. Use that. That's the
advertisement. The actual coins. Not Hollywood BS. I'm Hispanic and a person of color. I'm black. Where's my people's story?

There's an error on your list, in image 13 of "American Buffalo" the nickel is obviously type 1, though it says that the date appears to be 1915. The date must be 1913, unless it's a poorly made prop.
Was watching Bumping Into Broadway (1919) on HBO last night. There’s a scene when the landlord gives one of the main characters final notice that his $3.75 in rent is due. He empties his pocket and counts all the money he has. Here’s a couple images of the coins he pulled out of his pocket.

I love how this one is a good snapshot of what was circulating at that exact time. I’m sure the change was just put together on the spot from somebody’s random pocket change while on set. Interesting that there’s a Merc and a SLQ just 3 years after they were introduced. I don’t think I see any Barber coinage in the assortment.
I remember there being a scene in The Hustler with a coin flip before one of the pool matches. I can't remember if there was a close up of the coin, and I don't have a DVD of it to check. Anyone better remember the scene or can easily find it? Maybe nothing there, but just came to my mind.
The movie: The Fastest Gun Alive. There's also a scene where a kid throw up two silver dollars in the air and Glenn Ford shoots holes in both of them before they hit the ground. I don't have a picture of that though.
A Christmas Story 2 has a scene where a couple of coins fall out of a pocket as she’s doing laundry, a silver Washington quarter and a nickel. She then pulls a tin out of the cupboard, in the tin there are a few old notes. A $5 & $2 bill are visible. The tin also contains quite a few coins with at least two of them being war nickels. Spoiler Alert….the movie itself is a real stinker.
Edit to add: further into the movie one of the boys shows his “lucky buck”, it’s a Peace dollar in a bezel on a key ring. I’m watching it right now so this is a play by play LOL.
