Possible type 2 1976 Eisenhower dollar

I may have found a second Type 2 1976 Eisenhower dollar. No discernable mint mark between Eisenhower and the date. And it seems to have the thin type font indicative on the type 2. It was found in a lockbox from my great uncle's house. The moment I saw what it might be I put it in a safety deposit box for safe keeping. But, I want to make sure I am not missing something. If you think it looks legitimate and know of a good place to start in getting it appraised by someone trustworthy and beginning the process of selling it, I would be greatful.

Modern proof coins have mirror fields. If you can't read a newspaper by looking into its reflection in the coin, then yours isn't proof, sorry.
This would be an example of a normal circulating coin:
I believe you should be able to tell the difference pretty quickly.
the real special one is Silver, proof, with No S
almost all silver proofs are type 1 and have a S
the silver IKEs are a silver clad
Wondercoin
I suggest keeping your eyes open for a 71s silver prototype...

There is only one 76 no S ike proof known and the owner said he'll never sell if I remember correctly

I believe he is going to pass it down to his son.
Honestly though I'm not a big fan of pop1 rarities. I like there to be at least a few out there personally.

To me, that looks like normal proof dies that were intentionally abraded to utilize them for striking non-proof UNC pieces. I have a 1973-S UNC "blue" pack Ike dollar that has a normal satin obverse but a proof-like reverse from an abraded proof die that that was retired from striking proofs but still had sufficient die life to strike UNCs.
While it is highly doubtful that this is what the OP thinks, I imagine the excitement initially, but the letdown after will be unpleasant. Cheers, RickO
Yes,when I had a shop, this was also my most unpleasant experience. I fully understood that the person on the other side of the counter took their time to come to me, and they are excited about the possible profit that they are in line for. I hated telling people that what they had was not special. That was always the worst part of my day.

type 1 and type 2 refer to the reverse lettering type the proof above has wide letters type 1 and the narrow is type 2

yes what dave said. wasent there something about ones being different for the ones minted in 1975 and the 1976 had a thicker R? for some weird reason i thought that was the difference between the 2
