ASE Tubes - Does anyone have any tricks on putting the coins in

I was at the bank today putting some silver eagles in a tube. Does anyone have any tricks on getting them in without clanking them together? The first ones got stuck sideways and then when I got that straightened out I had a heck of a time getting them in gently. I was wondering if anyone stacked the coins on a table and then slid the tube over them or something else.

Comments

  • stack the coins on the cap and slide the tube over

I've never stacked on top of the cap, just on the desk and slipped the tube over. Using the cap has to be easier.

Or stack them on a small piece of cardboard and slide the tube over them. Slide the cardboard off of the edge of a table and catch it with your fingers and turn it over and then cap it.

    Gloves too of course.

Taking care of an investment and something of quality is always a good idea, realizing too of course once that tube is cracked the taking out and putting back in ensures there are no 69's.

But it's smart to avoid any further wear.

I don't thing there's a one I haven't touched, except those in the sealed plastic sheets.

That's how I have always done it. The cap is a good idea. image

Regardless, stacking the coins and sliding the tube over them is the preferred method. What you stack them on doesn't matter all that much. If you have say 10 coins, then you'll need to be a bit more creative about what you stack them on.
