Leave it to Arnie not to intrude on the golfing world when he passed. He waited 1-2 hours after the PGA Tour season ended today with the Tour Championship/FedEX cup. Uncanny. I always enjoyed watching the man battle with Nicklaus and the other titans in the mid-1960's and on. RIP King of Golf.

I remember selling his sport coats back in the 80's. They had little metal umbrellas in the lapel hole.

Taking up permanent residence at the 19th Hole. RIP

Arnie was one of a kind.

It was clear watching interviews earlier this year that he was really failing.

Sorry to hear of his passing........

I grew up with Arnie fighting Nicklas, Trevino, et al. Wonderful golf and great memories.

A mans man. Family first, golf second.

    RIP

The mint struck a Congressional Gold Medal in his honor some years back. Bronze 3 inch and 1 5/16 inch duplicates might still be available.

He was a true gentleman and a sports figure worthy of admiration.... no scandal, no controversy...just an intelligent - and often witty - individual. Such figures in sports are rare.

    Cheers, RickO

when I saw this, first thing I thought of was Jhon E cash's 5k note that has Arnold palmers signature all over it.

friend of mine collects 5 & 10k notes, and always stops at cash's table in Baltimore. he called me over to show me once (although he would never buy a damaged note like that)

I started playing golf at age 5 because of Arnie. One of my heroes. RIP King!

The "Golf Channel" had a special on Arnie a year or so ago that really showed what a fine man Arnie was. He was greatly respected by many in all walks of life. His name will live as long as there is a game called golf.
