Thus says the guy who criticizes everyone who asks people to report Ebay auctions of counterfeit coins.
Guessing both members are not in the Circle Of Trust?
Hope these 2 knuckleheads do not reflect poorly on the BST, as I've done hundreds of transactions both buying & selling there without even as much as a hiccup.
What Broadstruck said... it's unfortunate clowns like this can be found on the BST. Staying within the CircleofTrust seems to be the only way to go these days...
I'm new here but not on other coin forums. For the new would be sellers/buyers. Is there any info provided about the number of sales/feedback members have accrued? Just looking at peoples info on the left makes me think this site does not track that info.
Sorry you got burned I hope this gets fixed in a timely way.
He also took payment from me and never sent coins. He had many reasons for not doing so and they all sounded legit. Finally, I just gave up. However since I paid by credit card, I will probably be okay. I have a dispute currently open and between his emails and this thread, I feel safe that the charges will not go through.

BST boils down to trust. Get BST references and pay with paypal using a credit card.

I've never seen a forum member take a credit card payment in a BST transaction. Did you mean that you paid using a PayPal accounted tied to your credit card?

He owns a collectibles shop in Ohio and took a credit card payment for the coins. All seemed pretty legit and gave me the confidence to do the transaction even though he had no board references.
TimBuck3 got burned back in Jan 15 .. from a Washington State seller of supposed Silver Eagles.. .Let this thread be a warning ..Unless known .. only PayPal

Even those kinds of dealers should still be able to supply mainstream dealer references. And these days where so many B&M's with minimal cash flow and often on the edge of folding, you can't be too sure. I was taken by a "well-respected" dealer known to the national dealer community. They had cash flow issues and used my $$ to help fund their operations....eventually going bankrupt. Thanks Beavertown Coin, NJ. One can have all the glowing references and numismatic organizational links you want. It doesn't mean they can't go under.
I got a burnt cup of coffee the other day when I went through the drive-thru. I didn't know it was burnt until after paying and driving away.
Fortunately the brick and mortar made me whole when I went back.
At least you could turn around and go back inside and "exchange" it IF you wanted to. No point in paying for coffee that is undrinkable.
Yes, the problem with the BST is when you go back there, the perpetrators don't have to answer the door, or the message/email/ etc., That sucks, in essence.
