1964 Kennedy Accented Hair Proof ID Needed

UtahCoinUtahCoin Posts: 5,366 ✭✭✭✭✭
I have this 64 proof set with a Kennedy accented hair half dollar. Appears to be some strong doubling or tripling on the obverse. I don't see one like it in Cherrypickers.
Any help would be appreciated.

Several to choose from here - Coneca

Sometimes hard to nail it exactly when there are a number of doubled dies.

Edited for grammar and to add: It's pretty clear from the photos that the coin is an accented hair die, but which of the many DDO's you have is a little hard to decipher based on the photos. You may do better as you have the best view.

    .

pretty sure the "i" defect is a hub problem that made several dies, some which are ddo, tdo etc.

blew my mind when i learned there were multiple dies for this and some other varieties/errors.

Difficult to tell from the pictures... the 'Y' looks doubled.... I am not discerning a triple... as I said, could be reflections in the picture preventing that....Cheers, RickO

I see some tripling or at least think I do.

May be a case of a doubled die over master doubled die.

I would go with Die #3 based on pics, but that's about a 60% guess.

Yes! Surely you do have the "Accented Hair" and surely you do have a double die on the Kenn. What I'm curious about is if that Kennedy has a Cameo on both sides? According to your photo, the reverse looks Cameo. Now how'bout the Obverse? Cameo A.H. are sought after!

From the pictures, I would not call it cameo...in hand, it could be different, but does not seem to be. Cheers, RickO

Thanks for the opinions! The reverse has a light cameo, but not the obverse.
