Mystery coin

I dug a coin on Sunday that has me stumped.
Its thick like a nickel but slightly smaller.
On my Tesoro it IDs up at 95(where the good stuff falls) Nickels fall in the 30s.
I can't see anything on the coin, its totally toasted like an old copper.
The oldest coin I've dug at this park was an 1894 IHP.
Any thoughts?

A Shield nickel is slightly smaller diameter than a modern nickel.
I thought of that but wouldn't it ID a low nickel signal?
I'm convinced this is/was a coin.
Soak it in Aluminum Jelly. That should remove all the corrosion if it's a nickel.
