The one that got away!!

YorkshiremanYorkshireman Posts: 4,583 ✭✭✭✭✭
This afternoon, I happened to check the website of a national dealer. I bought my first upscale coin ( a two sided toned CC Morgan) from him and I was hooked.

I really don't collect dollars any more. However, I do collect eye appealing coins with a certain look. I found a proof Morgan with that look - a great toning.

Alas, it was already sold. I wish I had known!!! I would have bought it without haggling.

So frustrating .....

    I feel your frustration.
I just flipped over to the forum after a leisurely walk through of about a dozen pages of sold items on eBay. You know, just to look. I do so at my peril, but it's fun.
I didn't miss any regrettable BINs, in my chosen area, thankfully.
But yes, dealers leave those pics of awesome sold coins up on their website as a marketing tool: check every 3 hours, it seems to imply.
Or if they get a return. Stand in the econd chance line.

This has happened to me on items other than coins.... very frustrating to get there right after it is sold..... Cheers, RickO

Grr. It has happened to most of us at one point or another.

I had one dealer go after a gem proof seated coin for me at auction only to lose out since it was very high end. A month later they got the same coin in stock (now upgraded) and didn't even mention to me they had it. That one got away twice.
