Who here reads this and at what point does one usually find it helpful?

I like it a lot. My favorite coin publication.

Probably the best monthly coin publication with investor/collector advice. Winner of numerous best numismatic investment newsletter awards.

I was a subscriber in the late 1970's. Again in the mid to late 1980's. And yet again during the 2002-2004 period. I seem to recall he successfully navigated the 1979-1980 precious metals boom, as well as the 1983-1990 bull market in coins.

If you were a subscriber in August 2002, you would have been clued in on the $100 TRILL market in big bank otc derivatives. And the RNA successfully forecasted a major PM bull market and a crash in the derivative's market in the following 6-10 years. That came out when gold was around $300/oz. The article in August 2002 was suggesting a $1000-$1200 target for gold in that decade. In Sept 2002 I made my first purchases of about 2 dozen $20 Saints and Libs in MS61-64 grades for around $350-$475/coin. Those were the days. The RNA wasn't just helpful, it was instrumental for me getting an early seat on the 2001-2008 gold bull....and the coin market followed.

The best bang for $48/yr subscription price I ever got. Annual Crystal Ball Surveys are always interesting. If you're looking for a sure thing, no publication can guarantee that. But, Maurice gives excellent advice on what's coming down the pike and avoiding pitfalls in the numismatic market place. You could do worse with your $48 than spending it here.

And fwiw, gem MS type 2 trimes peaked in 1989-1990. While they should be worth a lot more, collectors and investors tend to go with bigger coins. Demand doesn't always follow "rarity" or "scarcity."

$48 /yr seems like it could be a good deal.

Why is Rosen linked so closely with Scott Travers?

Rosen seems like he knows his stuff. Travers' books have not impressed me.

Anybody else have experience with Rosen's work?

Ask him for a free newsletter . Some of his best issues are when he asked various experts for their predictions. Travers is often one of them. Rosen is pro CAC so if you have an issue with that then it may not be for you

It was a real good publication when I subscribed in the 90s and I'm sure it still is. His interview with Robert Campbell about AT coins being graded by the TPGs created a quite a stir as I recall....

I previously had a subscription and found it worth the price

There is a limited amount of "new" material a niche publication can generate to keep it fresh and interesting attracting new subscribers. I've found it useful with a significant amount of rehash and irrelevance for the material I deal with. The statistics analysis could be even more rigorous though they do a good job, accessing proprietary cac information on the high tier coins that have been submitted to cac. I don't know if anyone does an analysis on increases of populations at the grading services, that would be a useful analysis.

I spoke to Maurice Rosen. He is sending me a sample issue of the publication.
