Goodacre Sac Dollar

I sent my Goodacre Sac dollar in for a crossover from the ICG numbered holder that all of them came in. PCGS sent it back saying they don't cross them. Since all of these dollars originated in the ICG holders how does one cross them? I bought it from Goodacre's studio 15 year ago. Kind of confused.

You've got me on that one. Once upon a time I owned an MS67 Goodacre that was in PCGS plastic. The seller sent me that coin, as well as the ICG label from the previous slab. I can't provide any additional details BUT I do know first hand this info FWIW. Good luck to you.

BTW....those are really good looking coins image

Collect the coin, not the plastic.

Did they give a reason? If not, crack it and send it raw....Cheers, RickO

My question is: WHY cross them?

    I'm kind of confused, too.

I would leave it in the ICG holder. That is the holder that Ms Goodacre originally had the run of coins submitted to. Kind of historic. imho

Cracking one out of the original ICG holder and getting it in a PCGS holder is akin to cracking

a CC GSA out of it's holder and putting it in a regular PCGS holder......just don't.

The PCGS Crossover page clearly says you can "SUBMIT Your NGC, ANACS or ICG coins for PCGS Crossover."

So, maybe there was some other issue with your submission?

Maybe the OP wants it in a PCGS holder so it can be put in the Registry.

What is a "Goodacre" anyway? Is that a variety?

  • I called to ask why it wasn't crossed but they said that the senior graders were at a show this weekend and it would be next week before I got an answer.
  • So PCGS called and said that since the coin would cross at SP and not MS they didn't grade it. They admitted they should have contacted me. They offered for me to send it back for a free SP crossover and will pay shipping. I am happy as they are fixing the problem. Thanks for everyone's input.
  • ANA President, Jeff Garrett, was able to crossover from ICG to PCGS.
