What was the Mint's HH limit on the 2009 UHR?

Does anyone remember? I didn't purchase one but was wondering what the household limit was on that issue.

Looking at the mintage of 114,427 and how they have performed in the market, I'm wondering if any reasonable comparisons might be drawn to the 2016 Centennial SLQ. Both are gold, popular classic designs, well-executed strikings (if pics of the 2016 are an indication.) Just thinking.

A quick google search shows it was 1 per household

Thanks jwitten. Google search for it hadn't occurred to me.

Initially, it was one coin per household. There are two aspects to keep in mind, however. The first is that the UHR had an unlimited mintage while the SLQ is "limited" to 100,000 pieces. Additionally, if I recall correctly, after the UHR went on sale gold went up considerably and this is something to keep an eye on for the SLQ, as well.

Thanks for your input Tom, much appreciated. I'm strictly in for one piece for my collection so investment potential isn't a primary concern for me. Either way, I'm a winner because I like the coin. However, the similarities/differences between this one and the UHR are intriguing.

    I like both pieces, too.

For the UHR, I purchased a coin on the first day of sale for the issue price of $1,189 (if I recall correctly) and was able to sell it within a few days for around a $500 profit, which was really strange since you could still order them from the US Mint. The US Mint later announced that 5:00 PM eastern time on December 31 the coins would go off-sale and at 4:59 PM eastern time or so I placed an order for a half-dozen more pieces.

Today I ended up purchasing the SLQ because I like it and will likely keep the coin.

The Mint did indeed do away with the HH limit and folks could purchase as many as they wished until they went off sale.
