I haven't seen those either. Any idea on the mintage? Neat piece of history.

Interesting... I do not 'collect' or 'stack' bars... however, I do pick up one's that are significant to me....i.e. a Secretariat bar (super great race horse), and a few others. I would be tempted by this one...Cheers, RickO

Archie kidd 6th edition book says they are serialized but doesn't have a mintage quanity.

    Catalog No EJA-26

Looks like just the 2 styles....snag those if you didn't already.

Very cool. I would have bought those especially for $19.

In the early to mid '70's EJA bars had a wide range of mintage, from 25 (gold plated bars) to 3,900 per bar, to the minatge being Unknown.

When it comes to the ones with Unknown mintages, I judge them by at least the 3rd time they are offered on eBay. If one sells for a decent premium and more are quick to follow and come out of the woodwork, the minatge is on the higher side. If it takes 1-3 months before another example is offered on eBay, it's on the lower side. Certainly not a science to it, just my watchful observations.

I didn't look until this post, but they are numbered.

These are 0200 and 0185. With the four digit counter, make me wonder if they made at least 1000

    Thank you

or 9999. But you're right, probably more like 1000, possibly 5000 based on their history on some of their other bars.
