Submitting coins to PCGS

Hey everyone its me the new guy.

Do they automatically attribute Full band, full steps and is there a variety fee for these?.

Should you include it in the description on the submission form. Thanks!!

No added fee for FB (dimes) and FBL (Franklins).

They should be verifying these without you having to do anything else.

You CAN include it (ie...the right PCGS# on the submission form), which is what I have done, but they should be verifying it on their own.

Ie...if you think it is FB and put it in the right PCGS# for that, and they disagree, they will (should) put it in a non-FB PCGS# holder and send it back to you.

In the past, when I have submitted, I put it down as what I think it is.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

    Yep, exactly as above.

In fact I sent an 1878cc that they attributed as an 1880cc.....they ignored whatever I said and

just did it right (it was an 1880cc).

Interesting...would you do the same for CAM/DCAM or PL/DMPL?

Do you feel you see better results by doing this? I've never used the designation number and would hate to think how many I have missed opportunities on.

Yes, I would do the same for any coin I believe should be assigned a specific variety or strike designation.

But honestly, I'm not sure it matters a whit. I've returned coins because the varieties are wrong and cited the proper coin numbers and wrote in large letters of the mistakes. They came back wrong again.

The best results came from submitting them in person at shows.

Bottom line: it can't hurt but probably doesn't matter much.

I submitted an early 19th century coin a year ago and I submitted it as a small date variety. They identified it as a large date variety and attributed it as such. No extra charge and they're smart.
    I love the 3 P's: PB&J, PBR and PCGS.

    I do it.

But I've also made a pop 1 cam on a (formerly) tough proof quarter variety and sent it in with the regular number (they had to make the number for the cam). So I don't think it matters one bit.

Adding the proper number does no harm.... just an extra (hopefully) safeguard in case it could be overlooked. Cheers, RickO
