I can't remember when I last got a Buffalo Nickel in change - must be at least
20 years or more. I remember getting rolls of them as a teenager. That is
    ancient history now....image

I find one every once in a while in the change tills at my part time job, mostly "no dates".

    Nice find!

Is that "BoJangles" in the background?

I was hoping for a mintmark though. image

It was a surprise to see it handed back to me.
It's got a nice original surface and full horn on the reverse.
(I didn't shoot the reverse though) image

Yes, back in the paper route days. Buffalos, walkers, all that neat stuff. I didn't get Barbers, Indians or Liberty nickels though.....Plenty of standing quarters.......

Great find, even as a kid in the 70s I didn't find any Buffs.

A guy I work with got a 1926-S in change a few weeks ago, VGish.

He texted me the pic of the coin and I asked about the mintmark...when he sent reverse pic I couldn't believe it.

Had to be stolen/spent.....no way a coin like that would still be circulating.

I put a lot of older stuff into circulation several years ago...old BUffs (some with dates) beat up Lib nicks, impaired proofs from 69-90.....wonder if this could be one of my releases? Kinda neat to think about.

I love finding old coins in my change....it was a beat all to heck 59 Indian Head cent that got me started over 30 years ago. Still have it.

We gave out Buffalo nickels at Halloween last year. I have no doubts that a few of them were spent by the recipients. Hope they were discovered by a collector that got as much enjoyment out of the find as you did.

Thinking of giving out Indian cents this year.

This is how I got my start in coin collecting when I was a kid! I received a Kennedy Half Dollar.

I keep releasing 2-4 Kennedy halfs into the wild daily. Keep getting those looks/questions: "What are these"?
