Advice on selling coin (Alaska Mint)

I'm not advertising a coin for sale (I'll do that on the BST) but I was wondering if anyone has bought or sold coins from the Alaska Mint. I bought a 1oz gold coin when I went to Alaska years ago. I'm assuming that it's worth is similar to bullion but it would be spot - x%. Just curious as to what you would consider a fair price would be.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I'd keep playing. I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming down for quite a while!

I thought was reasonable to get the gold panner with gold nugget. Just thought the design
was wonderful and shows how Alaska really got off the ground.

To the OP send me a scan of your coin and I will take it down the street to get the mint's opinion.

The Alaska Mint has issued a lot of pieces with many different subjects so it depends on the subject. Some pieces are part of a series for which there may be collectors.
There is some collector interest in Alaska Mint pieces so I wouldn't assume it's worth bullion selling to collectors on the bay (unless it's scratched, etc.). Selling to a dealer would be a different story.
Based on that, I'd sell it on the bay at some premium based on the series and historical pricing.
The Alaska Mint is still in business and posts prices for both new and quite a few older medallions. You can contact them for some estimated selling price. Several silver one ounce medallions from the early years are advertised at $300-$400 each, so they are asking for quite a bit of collector premium. The newer ones will not have much a premium over spot, but they are nice to hold a while as gold is likely on the way up over time.
