Pre-National price dip?

Seemed like there were deals to be had last night with PWCC maybe...Jordan psa 10 sticker at $8,600 and the regular at $31,000.... Very strong but maybe bargains? Who knows! Also a trio of Ryan Rc's psa 8 at the $5,000 mark. Down quite a bit from the high. Rose RC in an 8 also down. Just wondering if it's the pre-national dip or over saturation of these grades over the last 6 months

I noticed the same. I think it's a combination of people saving their bank rolls for the National and also that everyone who wanted these cards, got them (for too much last month).

The funny thing is, the conversation typically centers around the same handful of cards. Same names, same players, and one must then assume that the other multiple thousands and thousands of professional athletes whose likenesses ALSO appear on cards were just there to witness the creation of a pecking order of world royalty.

The buying group had a staff meeting and forgot to set their snipes.

Good observation. Wondering the same thing.

I wasn't even looking to buy but ended up winning a nice 8 Rookie Card with a last second bid. It wasn't a strong bid but very few last minute bidders last night. It may be the bigger bucks were asleep in Atlantic City last night ,,,or looking for a 7 come 11,,,,,or a price correction. Either way, Im starting to dip my toe back in this week. Who got the Clemente 8 rook for 55k (vs over 100k)?

I noticed the same thing last night. I have been trying without success to land my first Clemente rookie and got the High End centered front and back PSA 7 last night before I hit the sack. I was pretty pumped to finally have what I was looking for!! I probably should have quit at that but also bid and got the 57 High End PSA 8 Brooks and the 68 Bench PSA 9 with great centering front and back while I was sleeping.

Missed out on an Aaron rookie and a 1959 Mantle HE dead centered last night to strong prices, so there are still people out there paying good money.

I wish you would have quit at the Roberto. I was the underbidder on the '57 Brooks Robinson. Nice pick ups! Can you place top all bids on ebay? Is that how you won the Robby and Bench while snoozing? You snooze...but then don't lose.

Not sure about the Clemente 8 but I got the other Clemente 7 for $11,600 last night. I sold mine two months ago for way over 20k. I don't need perfect centering - I can live without it.

I was the underbidder on the perfectly centered 1975 topps Milt May psa 7.
So I can relate to those of you who lost out. This one's going to hurt for awhile.

  • I woke up to a few PWCC wins as well, which is rare for the nice cards.

I think it's a combination of the National literally 2 days away and the fact that this was his "late addition" round. Baseball is always first and maybe his normal buyer's didnt look to see these. Either way, I pulled a nice Clemente RC and 52 Topps Mays for my collection.
