Correct! That "scratch" on the obverse is on the holder. That is also where I took the images as the NGC images were poor and my photography skills cannot capture this.
I also have a 1737 MS65 piece that I purchased raw as a non-proof but thinking it might be a proof. Having this one to compare it to settles a lot of questions in my mind about the different look of proof coins from that era.
