    1927 PCGS MS64 rattler Saint

At $3,000+ that's certainly above generic MS66 money and close to CAC MS66 pricing.

I'd grade the coin a no-brainer MS65/65+....it could also easily upgrade to MS66. One spot on the obverse is a small distraction. No sense in cracking this out when it's already at generic 66+ money. Good score for the owner. The surfaces look a bit sanitized so I'm not sure CAC would sticker it, even if it's the equal of today's 65/66 coins. Would be a lot better shot with some coppery toning and copper spots. The house could own the coin too.

Some people get excited over rattlers than are obviously under-graded. Today's MS64's don't look like this. If I ran across this coin at a local show I'd buy it if priced 10% under going MS65 rate. A nice score if it went 66 or gold beaned. I also can't rule out that a dealer/up-grader is thinking it could go 67. It is a pretty clean saint.

I agree solid 65 but The distractions on field and rim of the obverse I think keep it from 66 and thanks for the link I will learn on day I hope.
