There’s quite a bit of history on whiskey distiller Samuel Taylor Suit who was also a politician. The best is he fell in love with a younger woman named Rosa who was 30 years his junior. She refused to marry him then suddenly had a change of heart when he offered to build her a real castle on the 800 acres he bought in Maryland which he named Suitland. They married however Samuel passed away before the completion of Rosa's castle.

That's pretty cool......
Kind of similar story with Boldt Castle up in the 1000 islands. It was the bride that passed away before the castles completion in that case.
