A First For Me

Actually found roll searching, couldn't believe it.

Granddaughter and I got $10 from a local bank and found absolutely nothing, until the last roll.

I have never found one of these in the wild.

It's horrible, beat up, looks like it was laying reverse up in a parking lot or street for a while, rims all beat up, etc., but obverse is undamaged, undoubtedly a small date, fairly worn, VF/XF-ish.

This really surprised me- hard enough to find a 70-S LD in rolls.

The last several months have been fairly productive.

We've found 1916, 1917, 1917-S (Fine), 1919-S, 1920-D, 1944-S, 1945-S, and a 1969-D w/o FG on reverse.

The older wheaties came from different banks, a couple here, couple there.

Weird, but cool.

Now she thinks we've not done any good unless we find a pre-1930!

I told her that was just a lucky fluke and not to expect that every time.

And we finally did find the elusive 1973-S!

Very cool! I don't see many large date 1970-S coins in circulation any more at all. That's a great find.

Good job. That's an elusive one for me, too.
