Neat wheatie die gouge...

I've looked at a lot of wheat cents for varieties over the years and have never found one like this. It is raised on the coin, and was pretty deep into the die. If anyone has any other wheat cent with die gouges, I'd love to see them!

Kinda a die gouge...more of a die punch.
Very interesting! I have 2 1943-D cents with similar 'dots', both from the same die. The dot is next to the D mintmark... I'm familiar with these on Morgan dollars, but hadn't see any on Lincolns until I bought those 2 coins. I've heard that in the case of the Morgans, they may have resulted from a Rockwell hardness test performed on the die.
