Wow... and they were giving them out at Long Beach for a submission of 20 coins or more...

    Cheers, RickO

ricko pounded out a similar answer a few moments before...at least it is the same info!

Charmy put in her trip report that they are "given away" for a submission of 25 or more coins at Long Beach. I like the medal, but not that much! ...nor for $399.99 on ebay! Crazy!

If PCGS had graded it a 69 I am sure NGC would have given it a 70.

$399 may be a bit crazy, but this is no different than any of the other sample slabs that sell for a premium since most of those were at one point handed out for free at a show or luncheon or...

Someone who wants one would have to come out of pocket a couple hundred bucks anyway in submission costs and many may not even have the necessary amount of coins to qualify. Paying a premium may be the easier option. I'm guessing there will be a few sold at auction to discover what the collector value actually is.

$399 is high. Only saw a few for sale at the show from dealers and the cheapest price I was quoted was $125.

Had to submit 25 to get one and PCGS was very strict about making sure no one received two of these... even if you submitted hundreds of coins!

I know of at least one of them on eBay right now that started at 99 cents and is ending on Sunday image

From what I see, it says "Best offer accepted," so the actual price must have been lower than $250.

I received one of these in the mail this afternoon but I doubt it would sell for these insane prices.

Near as I can tell, it's not even silver.
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

The bar is always high when the pops are unknown.

But for an edition of 500?

Most recent sales on eBay (including true auctions) have been for $115 or less.

I see a current BIN for $110 and another for $152.

I know it says they gave it if you submitted 25 coins at the show, but I didn't and I still got one.
I did submit 25 on 5/5 and they shipped to me on 6/3.
