Which Modern Coin Released by the Mint this Century is your favorite?

For me it's a tie between the 2000 $10 Gold/Platinum Library of Congress or the Buffalo Reverse Proof.

Curse me for asking, but who's the best secondary source for those UHRs?

The only coins that got my attention this century are the Baseball Commems.

Several of the plat proofs. Their designs have been the best in years!

I still like the Liberty design subset of the First Spouse medals... here they are in bronze:

But they look good in gold too image

  • I like coins that actually circulated and have a story behind them. My choice is the 1972 D quarter with the high relief proof artwork reverse and the 1972 Philly Ike dollar with the high relief proof artwork reverse. Then we have Frank Gasparro's statement that proof died were accidentally used for 1972 circulation strikes. Which one was he aware of or both?
Two dies were used for the Ike and one would have been sufficient for the quarter.

Edit: Oops, Sorry. I guess these coins are from the last century, although well under 100 years old.

I bought graded 69 baseball just because they are unique, so far.

the UHR is sweet as well.

I like these two a lot.

I don't really consider the UHR a "Modern Coin". It's a classic coin with modern minting techniques.

Our very own Wondercoin who is an active forum member here and is a market maker in modern gold coins both slabbed and raw among other coins. I've bought several god coins from him and he is a very reliable seller. I highly recommend him. He usually posts in the BST Forum and he gives fellow forum members good prices.

That one prezzie buck who's hair reminds me of Bozo the clown is a favorite. Just because it looks like a cartoon coin and I love cartoons.

Just kidding. It's not a favorite. It just makes me laugh.

The 2009 UHR with the 2015 HR being a close second.

I believe that 2000 is part of the last century so would not count.

For me it's close between the UHR and the 2011 25th anniversary eagle set, I'm surprised that no one else mentioned it at all.

My overall favorite coin is the Morgan Dollar(19th Century)
    (20th Century) The Lincoln Cent
(21st Century), to answer your question, has got to be the Gold UHR. Only because I can't decide on any other coin? I am not really a Gold collector too, but you have to admit, the coin is beautiful!image

I'm agreeing to this post only because I think the UHR is beautiful and needs to be seen again on the second page of this thread. The gold buff ain't so bad either.
