Counterfeit coins and TPG

After reading about yet another group counterfeit coins/TPG service holders being sold on ebay, it begs the question as to what the major TPG companies doing to protect their products? I understand the ever evolving sophistication of the holders, but what about the perpetrators? Are they being pursued criminally/civilly?

The only thing that I know that is being done is the listings, for the most part, are being taken down from ebay.

I do not know about any action being taken by the TPGers themselves.

I highly doubt TPG's are taking the time and resources to prosecute a party that likely has no money.

Like I've said again and again, no one would buy counterfeit coins if TPG's would include high-res images of all coins they grade. If the coin in hand doesn't match the cert lookup image-- it's fake.

some basic archive searching, google searching etc turned up sufficient info.

how many times can they come on the forum and say, "we're on it?"

    hope it helps. image

very nice technical "escape" statement. basically saying we are doing "everything of nothing".
when I was a child, my parents said many times: "watch the oriental floods. they are not good for your health" you can not stop them. (this can be interpreted and looked at from many different meanings and sources)

aside from that, I believe the only way to stop this flood is
A - right at the border with enforcing, I believe yet to be passed laws prohibiting the import. I guess one excuse would be that there is no money to hire another 20,000 customs agents specializing in numismatic forgeries.
B - laws to include possession of counterfeits.. and enforce such law with heavy finess, even on a local level like the local police.
How to do this or go about it? through your elected Government officials. make them work, make it urgent...
I was personally instrumental getting the law involved in several European countries investigating Canadian silver dollar forgeries, mostly successful.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life
