Swimming in Coins: Fulfill Your Scrooge McDuck Fantasies

I was searching the web to see if there are any standards on how Bank vaults are built (I couldn't believe that 10 bank vault roofs have been cut open in the last few months in the NYC area and safety deposit boxes ransacked) when I came across this article.

I thought the images were photoshopped at first, but they are legit.

I would not mind having a few of those deposit boxes.

I guess that I will stick with my old ammo cans.

I wonder what the grades would be after being dumped out in public for the stunt and then shoveled with those metal shovels. Lol

Who the heck would want all of that change? And the vault/boxes? It would cost just as much or more to transport/install as it all might be worth. Just does not make sense I don't think. Oh well.

Strange stunt, misguided cause, but I do think the facade of a Swiss safe deposit vault would make a pretty cool wall somewhere in my house.

I thought Switzerland used 5 rappen coins, not centimes?

I've heard "centime" and "rappen" used interchangeably. If memory serves, I had an old Dansco album for Swiss coins that used the "centime" nomenclature.

One thing about the Swiss coin designs is that they've remained the same even longer than our Lincoln cent, so perhaps there are some older pieces in the mix.

As to the quantity... "wow" pretty much says it all.

I find it amazing to consider that someone will likely buy this 'vault' and contents...Certainly the

price is within reason...then add moving costs... not a stretch for a billionaire... Cheers, RickO
