Ebay Store Subscribers - Get Free Shipping Supplies!

MedalCollectorMedalCollector Posts: 2,023 ✭✭✭✭✭
A new benefit of signing up for an ebay store is a coupon for ebay branded shipping materials. The instructions for locating your coupon code can be found here.

Basic store subscribers get a $25 coupon.
Premium-level subscribers get a $50 coupon.
And Anchor-level subscribers get a $75 coupon.

I just cashed in and got 100 small bubble mailers (perfect for coins), for free! I haven't decided if I will use them yet, as I would like to get a feel for them in-hand.

Here is a link to the ebay branded shipping store, if you want to check it out.

Thanks. I don't sell a lot, but I see those Ebay branded padded mailers are selling for half of what I paid for a bunch of them from Office Depot. When I run out of my current supply, I'll definitely get those from Ebay.

Thanks for reminding me. But unfortunately, ebay does not ship to PO boxes, and if I change my address, it will not allow me to use my coupon. I'll have to do some poking around.

    I'm hesitant to use these.

Having the eBay logo on them means the contents inside are something that somebody bought and a small item could be valuable - like coins.

So instead of advertising and promoting eBay, it could just a flag to the postal thieves. I'm not really interested in doing either.

It's kind of like printing the postage value and marking it insured.

Maybe I'll get some and just put the shipping label over their logo.

Got it to work and ordered some. To Topograpics's point, I don't plan to use them for outside packaging. When I send coins I often put a small bubble mailer in a box, or inside another bubble mailer. That is the plan with the free 100 mailers I just got.

This is what I was planning to do - I'm just wondering what the other side of the envelope will look like.

Ordered one hundred bubble mailers....& started using them for items worth less than $250.00

I'm in the "I don't want my shipments to say Ebay" camp. Free priority mail supplies at USPS website, including the bubble envelopes.

Blank bubble mailers are about $20/100 shipped if I recall. I still have half a box and can't remember what I paid. Free is great, of course, but I also agree with the need to "debrand" the packaging.
  • bigjpstbigjpst Posts: 3,182 ✭✭✭✭✭
The branded packaging is the whole reason why they give out the coupons. Trying to get ebay the same kind of recognition when stuff is being stolen off of front porches that amazon gets.

With a black sharpie or some other method, obscure the Ebay logo on the mailer.

    .

legitimate concerns for valuables and while i havent viewed the packaging, yet, the shipping labels have a big ebay moniker on them but perhaps the packaging is more prominent from a distance?

doubt i'll buy that stuff. rarely use boxes and dont like that poly material. seems loke it would be much less eco-friendly. i prefer the kraft brown bubble mailers.

better to cut down trees for them. idk if they are post-consumer.

i need to get back to thinking about my footprint. geeze. image

tyvm for bringing this offer to our attention.

I went and ordered some boxes instead. Sometimes you need a box to ship albums or items with mint boxes.

To get around the PO Box limitation I use the street address of my post office along with the box number. You can have multiple addresses assigned to you eBay account.

    So instead of:
    PO Box 9988

    I use:
    1234 Post_Office Road, Unit 9988

This works fine and UPS will deliver it.

Thanks I have done this in the past for amazon purchases. Kindof throws my free two day shipping with prime out the window as my PO seems to take a couple extra days to process the packages from UPS and Fedex

Thank you for the information. I just ordered 100 bubble mailers to use for packaging inside of plain brown envelopes.

Not sure if anyone else mentioned, but it is not really "free". They are raising the cost for a store subscription, but "including" this coupon for "free." I would rather have the old store price, and buy my supplies elsewhere. They are a terrible deal compared to buying in bulk.

Check with your post office about having items shipped to the physical address of the post office. I, too, had a PO Box and our local PO had a physical address that they allowed everyone to use as a shipping address. They would get the items and then route to the box.

    Worth checking into.........

Thank you, I ordered some boxes. I couldn't find how to add them to my cart, and I cashed out. When I went back to use the other 20 dollars, the checkout wouldn't let me use the rest of the coupon. I had to write and request a cancel.

After all this time, I had NO idea! Thanks for the heads up. I just ordered 100 of the
small mailers. Sam's Club sells similar Scotch mailers, 25 in a box, for about $5.68?
I don't mind the eBay logo at all. B'sides that, they're free...

Don't forget the 10% fees applied* to the shipping charges (for store owners who charge for shipping). That's free cash, too. See OPA for details.

    .

the usps has started permitting (for a while now) the use of their street address officially to circumnavigate po box restrictions from sites. very nice.

there are laws about how the address can be used. for buying/selling no prob.

dont list it as your home address, license etc w/o verifying it is ok first.

Many post offices now have 2 addresses, one for the post office box and another for.........your post office box to receive fedex, ups etc. Ours does and believe me where we are on the west coast of Fla is closer to that of a 3rd world country so if we have it I bet you do.
