What's going on with the reverse of my 3CN?

Hey guys...bought this 1880 3CN in a PCGS Rattler and noticed the interesting features under the bottom of the wreath. It shows some die clashing and I also noticed what appears to be an absent petal.

Any help is appreciated, figured it was probably nothing

Reverse die was abraded to remove clash marks.

Nickel was new to the Mint, so there are tons of errors, die clashes, die cracks, etc. etc. with this series. Neat to see all the variations of production problems, but there're lots of them out there.

If that was a Morgan Dollar it would be a VAM variety.

It is always interesting to find small variants on coins... usually not of significant value dollar wise, but always interesting as numismatic 'keeper'.... Cheers, RickO
