Why do people buy this crap?

I had this thought while looking at a thread a few minutes ago. But then I thought, many people probably have the same thought when looking at one of my threads. What a hobby…

I don't care what people collect nor do I judge them. Life

I have had this thought before a few times, rather high dollar or low dollar coins. Then again it isn't my money and I have made plenty of terrible purchases too.

I am guilty of purchases like that as well though, I have a shoebox of coins I purchased when I started out and I try not to look through it as I am guilty of many terrible purchases image

    Ain't that the truth...

I was gung ho to jump right in the car and buy someone's so called crap on CL a week ago.

Great deal until I spoke to the seller on the phone and opted out as I felt I should be hearing dueling banjos in the background image

There are different levels of crap....some safer than others, while some crap could actually end up making you a lot of money, even if it's unintentional. image

With that being said....to each his own, as the buyers are responsible for their own decisions.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

You have to be confident in what you like in this hobby, but that's part of what makes it fun.

I have long ago stopped criticizing what others collect.... humans have a penchant for collecting,

and their interests are legion. Just enjoy what you like and let others have their fun. Cheers, RickO
