1989 P Kennedy half "no cowlick"

I'd like to know your thoughts on this. Could this be a new variety ? Heavy die polish lines on Obv. Kennedy's cowlick is completely gone.

This is an interesting, but relatively common phenomenon. This area, along with the bridge of the nose are usually the first areas on the die to show evidence of strong die polishing.

If you view a 1966 No FG half dollar for example, this part of Kennedy's hair will also be erased.
