I said I'd be floored if Golden State won last night, but it goes way, way beyond that. There were times in the first half when it looked like they were on the verge of being down by 25-30 again, yet they somehow managed to keep it together and stay within striking distance. Hung around, hung around, hung around in the second half, then Curry and (to a greater extent) Thompson happened. Steph made huge shots at the end, but let's not kid ourselves, Klay Thompson saved the Warriors' season.
You've just gotta love the guy. He is so unassuming and constantly lives in the shadow of the MVP, yet he is a bona fide superstar in his own right. That shooting performance last night was one for the ages. The degree of difficulty on some of those 3-balls was immeasurable. And does anyone in the history of pro sports have a quicker release? Somewhere Dan Marino is smiling.
I don't have the slightest feel for what's going to happen tomorrow night......I'm just glad it's going to happen.
Durant took too many shots, and didn't make them. What worked for OKC in games 3 and 4 was getting the other guys involved. As Barkley said, they reverted to "hero ball".
