Mmmm.... Gracias for posting as you reminded me I have that exact same slab with a bit of a different number.

Thanks to the old MCM, captained by John.

I agree with the OP that these coins are NOT getting the respect they deserve as a very unique Type coin. The feeling "back then" was that the mintage ended up being way too high. Yet, it ended up being just a fraction of the proof Gold Kennedy and will be a tiny fraction of the 2016 100th Anniv. coins.

I am also still a big fan of this coin, especially the Chicago ANA coins which, in a way, "started it all".

I'll take the 2008-W fractional set in 70 thank you.

I prefer the regular design....nothing wrong with an RP, just to my eye, it is not as attractive.. in this case. The regular proof seems to lend more dignity to the subjects. Cheers, RickO

No real price increase since 2013. I bought a First Strike PCGS 70 for around $1950 in 2013 from Gold Mart.

Also the 2015 buffalo gold proof is now the king. It may not stay the king for too long. There seems to be a waning interest in these proofs.

I (and perhaps myriad others) can't get excited about something made very recently, flawless, no real history and basically bullion at a hefty premium.

There is something about modern coins that is attractive to some people, but try as I might it ain't happening for me and probably myriad others.

Hence, this coin doesn't get the respect you seek...unfortunately I'm growing less interested in modern stuff put out by the mint year over year (so going from 0.5% interest to 0.001% interest), not more interested...I've basically tuned out all mint/bullion related coinage other than for some good humor from time to time.

Anyhow, my point is... I don't see the respect for such issues burgeoning any time soon, unless the myriads that have basically tuned these things out somehow begin to tune them in...
