I received a pen set from CAC for the holidays last year and they wrote beautifully!
All coins kept in bank vaults.

Great Collections Blue Pens are wonderful -

They write in a nice, dark blue color, and

I like 'em a lot - use them everywhere.

    Ian - thanks again!

Fred's off center token is way cooler than a pen image

That is weird. I just received my very first pen with my last purchase. Must be a new trend.

I can't say that I have received a "pen" with any order. I did receive a few of those advertising tokens (classic Obverse) in the past...dealers name escapes me at the moment.

    Oh, my 'business card' token.....

I had them made up about 7-8 years ago, I think,

and every time I hand one to someone at a show,

with the business info side showing, every single

time they turn it over, I see a smile, and most of

    the time I hear:

    "Of course - what else!"

(by the way, I own that O/C 1880-S Morgan; one of

    my pride and joys.....)

Actually, I just realized I have to order more, as

I'm running very low; I'll need more for the ANA

    in Anaheim this August.

Funny! For the last 2 years we've been giving away some really nice pens with our orders. One side has a stylus and a mini-flashlight. In fact, I quit giving them out myself as I enjoyed using them so much...guess I should quit hoarding them.

Most cheaper pens have issues. I'm talking about the 15-20 packs for $4-$6. The cheap blue pens I used back in grade/high school rarely let me down.

My brother works for one of the large pen manufacturers as manager of quality control. I always buy packs of those to be loyal. And then once I start using them, half of them don't work well. You end up throwing them out long before they're out of ink. Bought a 3 year supply a few months ago and I'm not sure they'll even last a year.

I would lose or misplace just about any pen, but I'd never lose that Weinberg token! I cherish these type of tokens and actually have a small group of them going. I find then the neatest type of swag you can get from a show.

    Northeastcoin Pens are the BOMB!!!

I always try and stock up when I see them and am happy to advertise for them as their pens are so amazing and easy to use.

There have been multiple occasions where other dealers have asked to keep the Northeastcoin pens as they write so smoothly that they beat whatever else they were using.

may the fonz be with you...always...

My other hobby is collecting (and using) fountain pens...so I sort of stick my nose up at anything of the rollerball variety. image

I have one and I agree, they are nice.

The last batch of pens I ordered were inexpensive, but not bottom of the barrel. I've been using them and they seem to last a while. The first time I ordered pens they were absolutely horrible. I ended up tossing out a lot of them.
  • Picked up a Stacks Bowers pen last auction viewing I went to. Sits next to my chair and works great but most I 've picked up fall apart quick.

Aside from writing invoices or checks, I also use fountain pens exclusively. Much of what folks are writing about with the smoothness of pens is actually about the refill included in the pen.

I've got two pens from local dealers that are actually decent!
One even has a little light bulb on the end! image

I actually have a pen story. I used to buy pens as giveaways for trade shows (not coin shows). These were Pilot roller-balls that cost about $2/ea. I was at a show and had a couple explode...one in my pocket and another in someone else's (who picked it up at my table). I'm thinking the pressure changes from flying caused it. I threw $1000+ worth of pens away that day and paid for a dry-cleaning bill. I did not want to be known as the company that ruined somebody's $4k custom suit. image

Umm, complaints about something that is free?

Thank goodness it did not cost 1 cent, otherwise there would be a felony complaint and class action lawsuit for $500,000,000
