Lowball Presidental Dollars ??

Does anyone have any really worn or pocketpiece ones? I've seen a few brown ones with some wear but not much. I do like the brown color better than the gold color.

I have some pocket pieces, but probably EF45 at best (or is it worst...). I've not seen any really worn ones except for one that looked like it spent time with a belt sander.

I have a 2007 G.Washington that I have carried around since they came out.

I'd guess it's a VG or worse now.

How does the edge lettering wear on that Washington. Can you still tell if it is a D or a P mintmark

The lettering on the rim is nearly gone, D is visible but the date barely so.

On the obverse, all dates after "PRESIDENT" are obliterated, as is most of "1st" and "GE" of GEORGE is vanishing.

I do like the brown color better than the gold color.

The deep-brown color you are referring to is easily obtained by burying bright pieces in ones's garden and leaving them there for a time.

I have found several metal detecting like that. More so with the Sac dollars. They've had a better chance to be in the ground longer ??

I have been searching for a VF'ish one for a type set.

I need a nice Vf'ish steel cent too.

Those are the types of coins that are hard to find.

They are out there but aren't worth the time and cost associated with selling them.

Yes. Presidential dollars in low grade (or with any wear at all) are very rare.
