This week at Coinstar...

No silver, but somebody forgot these little mammy-jammies:image

At first I thought I'd struck 90% silver again, but upon closer inspection saw my first steelies found in circulation. And two of them to boot!

Always an adventure at these machines...and it makes grocery shopping a little less mundane for us coin nerds.

I've found a couple of steel cents in the coinstar. They're some of my favorite finds. That's because they are really cool, iconic, and relatively common 20th century American coins that, unlike virtually every other US coin, are essentially impossible to find with a metal detector.

Just picked 5 scuzzy Lincolns from the reject bin. They accumulate in the center console of my truck, and get passed on to toll collectors on the NYS Thruway. Something for Gov. Cuomo to choke on. image
