Digs from early April

Looks like the winter is over. I've managed to get some round metal objects out of the ground again.

These are from a mix of beach and land detecting:

The big coin in the middle is a Finnish 10 penniä 1865. At least I'm now in the right time period for silver.
There are also two smaller coins from around the same time.

I also got a few really beat up copper coins (bottom right), the worst of which is barely half a coin anymore. Adding insult to injury, I dug deep and around some roots for it too.
Amazingly enough they're still identifiable, and all of them are less than 100 years old. They all came from the same area, which clearly has brutal soil. Even silver would probably show a fair amount of pitting here.

Speaking of silver, there's a small Swedish 10 öre coin here that's 0.400 silver.
Not quite the silver I was looking for, but I'll take it!

The oddball find was a Spanish 5 pesetas 1957. I felt a bit cheated on this coin, as it was in an interesting spot - under a rock and very deep. Was hoping for something better.

.. and then there was this of course image
