Talking about 1943-s steel , are retained cuds on the reverse tough?

By left wheats and rim. Not talking where a chunk of die has fallen out retained, but there is a displacement all the way through it....will get photos when meet with Mr Goodman soon, just not soon enough. Saw the thread about a gorgeous toned ms67 and it reminded me of my piece.

do you have a decent camera phone?
as a rule, i think that cuds, retained or otherwise are scarcer for steelies generally but ive had numerous steelies retained and cud. usually they are problem coins.
it really boils down to a coin-by-coin basis.
info on scarcity can be tough as from my experience, it is about experience/conversation to be accurate about rarity, more so than a lot of other stuff.
i'd say the S mints are scarcer overall than p or d but im confident about plenty of exceptions.

David Lange in his "Complete guide to Lincoln Cents" states:
The San Francisco Mint produced a great many cud varieties.
Some 16 are known for the obverse, 4 of them retained breaks.
There are ten reported for the reverse, all but two of them
retained. One variety features a mating of one obv. & one
reverse cud.
For 1943-P no less than 30 obv cuds have been documented,
5 of them retained. There are 13 for the rev., all but three
retained
1943-D only a single obv. cud is documented.

Reverse Retained Cuds for the steel cents;
I'd say finding them in a nice MS grade,
with no corrosion or rust would be the tough part.

reverse retained cud, to help him with his project.
My example is an ms67 in an old no line fatty ngc holder untoned and immaculate. Sorry will get a photo in couple of weeks to show.
Do you have the cert number, NGC may have a bad scan on their verification page from when slabbed?
