Nice surprise in the mail today
Post office delayed one of these last week, for a couple of days, and so I couldn't get it until I went to the PO today.
Today, also a scheduled delivery for another IHC.
After going for MONTHS with no real coin purchases, and not being able to go to shows, I saw a couple of coins that I wanted. So, I bid/bought them.
Going against what I want to do, one of them is a dupe (higher grade for another nicely toned IHC we already had of the same date). May keep the other one, may sell it at some time, but I just figured I wanted the new one as well
Not my photos (they are from the sellers), so that is why they will look different in how they view. I haven't done anything other than d/l the photos and post them. Coins really do look pretty much like in photos (obviously, when tilted in the light source).
For the 1908, that is a long scratch on the holder on the obv, not on the coin, and the black dot(s) at the top, are pock marks in the plastic and aren't the carbon spots on the coin that one may be used to and suspect they are.
I have found the 188x and many of the 189x to be the easier to find in nicely toned examples...at reasonable prices.
The 1878 and earlier have seemed to be harder and much more expensive.
Some of the 190x have also been more difficult to find.
trying to do short sets of 1880-1889, 1890-1899, and 1900-1909

You have some slab polishing to do. Love to see some good photos afterwards. I'll bet it's night and day.
Lance.
I like the colored feather headdress on the 1892.

Nice looking. I assume they are proofs?
Yes, proofs.
Thanks for the kind words, guys.
