What do the Standing Liberty Quarter and Columbia Pictures have in common?

Established in 1924, their first logo seems awfully familiar.....

I took this photo on the Sony lot last week. Cool place to be!

Wish I were there! It does resemble the SLQ.

I was thinking of the current version, but sure enough...there may have a been some sort of legal action to change her...from the motion picture company.

    Never knew that!

I have heard that the first version of the lady holding up the torch was modeled by a lady from Blue Island, Illinois, where I lived for 27 years.

I would imagine that some people got upset at a woman with an exposed breast.

I thought that second logo, just to the right of the SLQ-like logo, looked familiar. Then I realized.....it's the logo that was used at the beginning of the earliest Three Stooges shorts! Nyuk. Nyuk, nyuk!
    I'll come up with something.
